well,Normally speaking most children are able to write simple charactors with less strikes several months after they entering primary school.

2.Do you think handwriting is very important (nowadays)?
Personally speaking, i think so.though with the high development of computer with keyboard,people prefer to text words through the machine,as a chinese,i think as a contry with thousands of history in calligraph,i think to pass down this tradition is pretty important.Besides,a person with nice handwritting will be considered careful,learnt with excellent mind.
3.How can children today improve (or, practice) their handwriting?
Through competetion which is regarded as a terrific methold for children to keep them practicing.Also to cultivate their interst in calligraph is also very important.
