Abstract: Tourism resources are the basis for the development of tourist industry, spatial structure is the main factor that makes the differences of economic growth in tourism. In this paper,we employ the abundance index of tourist resources, the concentration index of geography and regression analysis and make use of the tourism income data from 11 prfecture-cities of Shanxi province in 2011, analyzing the interactive relationships between tourism resources, spatial structure and economic growth of tourit industry. It can be seen from the result that the tourism resources , spatial structure of Shanxi province have shown positive correlation to the economic growth of tourist industry there. But there also exists obvious disparity. Districts with good natural endowment of tourism resources and good spatial structure don't get a good tourism economic growth while districts with good natural endowment of tourism resources and normal spatial structure get a good tourism economic growth. This indicates that the phenomenon of "curse of resources" which is supposed to exist in economic also exists in the economic growth of Shanxi tourist industry. Tourism resources are no longer the only momentum in gaining a rapid economic growth. We have put forward some proposals for promoting and making a better and faster economic growth in Shanxi province.
