有什么意义的“痛苦”在他的文章“存在主义”(混合400字)I think from the point of view to define, our life is what we make choices. When we came into the world, creating meaning, with every choice became disturbed us responsibility. The responsibility to make our anguish
d. How does Sartre define "anguish"? What is the significance of "anguish" in his essay "Existentialism" (mix 400 words)
In my opinion, our lives, as defined from an aspect of existentialism, are the choices made by
ourselves. Since we come to the world and become beings, it is our uncollected obligations
to sustain each choice we made, and such obligations make extremely anguished.
According to Sartre, anguish is the realization [that there is] of no necessity in his life. His life is a system of values sustained in being only by his choice of sustaining it. He is the one who gives value to everything around him [self] in order to determine his reaction to those things. Once he has the consciousness of his freedom, he will have the 【sensation of groundlessness这个词不太理解,无厘头?】and experience the anguish [of being the source of] from his own values. Then Sartre further explains most people flee anguish in bad faith. Bad faith is a form of self-deception, trying to tell lies to himself. <…anguish is evident even when it conceals itself> (p213)
Sartre's existentialism is a philosophy which deals with man. It states that man is that [which he] who makes [of] himself and [that he] who has to make his own choices in a state of anguish. Man [chooses] makes choices in anguish, because he has no external guidelines to help him and [must] has to rely on his own morals and beliefs. Man [chooses] makes choices completely [want] on what he wants [to do]. This is the whole meaning of his existence and being [depends on this]. This is [where] what I believe Sartre [locates] defines the meaning [to] of man's existence. According to Sartre, man's existence [takes on] bears meaning only through his actions. The Sartrean existentialist finds it extremely troubling that God does not exist because with Him, all hope of finding values in an intelligible heaven will vanish. As Dostoevsky once said, ‘If God did not exist, then everything would be permitted’ (pg 22). Sartre claims this to be the starting point of existentialist. This is the reason that Sartre talks about anguish.
