这种句子一般结构是这样的：
1.主语+谓语+宾语+不定式
I have no pen to write with.这个句子是不定式做定语修饰前面的名词pen
He can find a place to live in. 他能找到居住的地方。
I have something to talk about. 我有一些要谈的事情。
如果不定式是及物动词就不用加介词了。
例如：I have some clothes to wash.
2.主系表结构的The chair is comfrotable to sit on.=To sit on the chair is comfortable.
不定式和主语构成逻辑上的动宾关系。
The question is easy to answer. answer 是及物动词，所以后面不用介词。

在处理这种语法问题时，需考虑不定式结构中的动词的逻辑宾语即句子主语。
如你的例句中,从逻辑上理解 play with Mary。
再如：He is hard to deal with . 从逻辑上，理解为：deal with him(he)
The math problem is so difficult to work out . 从逻辑上，理解为： work out the math problem
