The customs we see in our homes today remind us of ancient celebrations of harvest, thankfulness for peace, and the endeavors of native Americans. In this Thanksgiving Day, people go to the grandparents' home to have a gathering. Everyone can to meet them family, they say " happy thanksgiving!" then they have conversation. It's time for supper, everyone gives thanks, then they have dinner together. Thanksgiving dinner is very delicious. Roast turkey is everyone's favorite, after dinner, have dessert and some juice . they do some Thanksgiving game.Finally, they all stand together for a big family photo.

感恩节吃火鸡是北美早期定居者传下来的风俗…… 即从1620年到现在称为马萨诸塞海岸的那批清教徒传下来的风俗。长时间海上颠簸，缺少食物，气候奇寒，使许多人死去了。第二年春天，那些幸存者在当地友好的印第安人的帮助下种了庄稼，盖了房子，而且学会了捕鱼和打猎。
那一年秋天，这些清教徒决定大摆宴席庆祝丰收，还邀请印第安人朋友参加，桌子上摆满了食物，有鹿肉、鸭子、鱼和许多野火鸡。这是那些定居者们到达新大陆后最快活的一天。
第二年，他们再次庆祝感恩节，美国特有的民俗感恩节就这样流传下来了。这是每个家庭极其特殊的节日，是一家人热情相待，相亲相爱的日子。
一家人围着桌子坐着，举行感恩祈祷，然后摆上刚出炉的火鸡。
烤得焦黄，色味具佳的火鸡，配上传统的调味品，酸果酱和南瓜馅饼，已成为第一次感恩节的象征。至少在这一天火鸡取代了秃鹰成为美国的国鸟。对多数美国人来说，这是亲人团聚的节目，是值得高歌欢庆的节日。
