电子二极管 只具有一个阴极与一个阳极(板极)的电子管。它是靠被灯丝加热的阴极发射电子导电的。具有单向导电性能,即阳极电位高于阴极时,阴极发射的电子在电场的作用下,向阳极运动形成电子流。而阴极电压比阳极高时,电子所受到的电场力是将电子拉回阴极的,不能产生电流,一般用于整流与检波,有真空与充气(充有惰性气体)两种电子二极管。充气二极管也可以做稳压、指示、控制之用。
晶体二极管(crystaldiode)固态电子器件中的半导体两端器件。这些器件主要的特征是具有非线性的电流-电压特性。此后随着半导体材料和工艺技术的发展,利用不同的半导体材料、掺杂分布、几何结构,研制出结构种类繁多、功能用途各异的多种晶体二极管。制造材料有锗、硅及化合物半导体。晶体二极管可用来产生、控制、接收、变换、放大信号和进行能量转换等。
