This act poses a grave threat to the world and the situationbecomes almost unbearable tense. The Caribbean shrouded in the shadow ofnuclear war and the whole world is at stake.

As a memberand the headquarters of NATO, Belgium firmly maintains NATO’s interest and alsocommits to coordinate the stability of North Atlantic countries and worldpeace. Belgium believes that the key to solve this crisis is solidarity and cooperation.If necessary, members of NATO should support each other. Peace as top priority,NATO members should adhere to curb Soviet and Cuban nuclear threat in apeaceful and defense-oriented way. However, Belgium supports NATO members touse the force to fight back nuclear threat in a crisis situation. Belgium willtake the responsibility of maintaining NATO’s interest and security and minimizingthe outbreak and dangerousness of nuclear war.

In face ofpossible outbreak of nuclear crisis, Belgium proposes the NATO countries as follows:
1. Make peace the top priority, enhanceand improve the establishment of defensive measures to prevent the outbreak ofnuclear war.
2.Reinforce communication withWarsaw (Soviet); try to convince Soviet not to launch nuclear war.
3. If war breaks out, countriescan take appropriate military measures (not exclude nuclear weapon) to strikeback for best interest.
Belgium expects that under the cooperation of the countries, we will forge a friendly and save living environment for people long for peace lives and avoid the disaster from another round of war.
