Difference between Chinese and English

Being the biggest two languages of the whole world,Chinese and English are being spoke by nearly half the world's population every day.The general difference between the two languages will be discussed in this essay.
Firstly,Chinese and English are different in phonetic aspect.It is common sense for all the Chinese people that their language have tones.Different tones can represent different meaning.For example,these four Chinese character 妈，麻，马，骂 have the same consonants and vowels,but different meaning.This is because their tones are not the same.But in English,no matter what tones you can make,the meaning will not change at all.
There is a big difference between Chinese and English that often causes difficulty when people learning to speak them.English words can be ended by consonants such as L and K while Chinese can not.Therefore,when Chinese people trying to speak mail and milk, inaccuracy happens.They always pronounce like maile and milke only because their mother languge does not has such kind of structure.
As most of the people know,Chinese and English both have dialects.For example,the languages of England,Scotland,Australia and America are all English,but with a lot of differences.Accordingly,Chinese has got dialects too,which are probably the most complex dialects of all the languages.When a person whose hometown is Beijing go to Canton,it is absolutely that he will not understand what those people are talking in Canton.This is because Mandarin and Cantonese are different of all aspects,phonetic,lexical and syntactic.So at this point,Chinese is different with English for all its various dialects.
Secondly, Chinese and English are different in lexical aspect.We know that in English words have different forms when the parts of speech are not the same.But in Chinese,things are totally different.A noun can not only be a noun,but also can be a adjective.When you say 一根木头,here 木头 means wood,but when you say 木头桌子, the same word 木头 has got the meaning of wooden.
Lastly, Chinese and English are different in syntactic aspect.This kind of difference is the most obvious one.In English,a verb will change its form in many kinds of situation.Let us make the word DO for example.The word DO has got many a forms such as do,does,did,done,doing like following sentences:
Let the audience do the right thing.
Lady Madonna does not know that her son is in great danger.
The Beatles did a wonderful concert in 1976.
When Sean has done his homework,you can play guitar with him.
Someone is doing a very good job in my company.
In Chinese,words have got no other forms but the one that they are showed in the dictionary.Let us see the following sentences according to those of English:
让我来做菜。
他做了今天的晚饭。
你昨天做的作业交了么？
当你做完了作业，天就应该快亮了。
有人正在屋里做作业。
Things are so clear that no matter what the situation is,做 is always 做,never be a different one.
The order of words are very important in English,but unvalued in Chinese.The phrase Eat Dinner in English is always this form,Dinner after Eat.In Chinese,you can change the order but still got the same thing.吃饭了 and 饭吃了 both mean someone has eaten the dinner.
In conclusion,Chinese and Enlish are different in many ways,like phonetic,lexical and syntactic,the most obvious of which is syntactic ones.
