Everyone desires and pursues happiness. But happiness means different things to different people.
Some people think that material satisfaction would bring happiness. But in fact they overstated the fact that true happiness comes from the enjoying of physic. Some people try every means to make money at the expense of other’s interests. These people harm others to benefit themselves. They think the greater sum of money they make, the happier they will be. Reversely, some people think that spiritual satisfaction is the greatest happiness. They do everything for the people. They live, work and sacrifice their lives for the people.
What factors are necessary to achieve happiness? I think certainly that happiness lies first all in health. Today most of people’s buildings have become weaker and weaker compared with the past owing to the serious pollution from modern chemical industries. There are enormous and various poisonous pollutants being drained to the natural environment. Generally speaking, health is just the foundation if we are urgent to achieve happiness. If you get a sick body, it is sure that you must have no the enough energy and essential action to approach your destinations. Health to a person is just wings to a bird!
There is a saying: that happiness is always abounding from hard work. Of course, that’s true. In the society, you can find easily that a majority of people possess a tough and hard-working youth often. They think that working hard can not only gain an excellent grade, but also make them more knowledgeable. It’s proved by many well-known people that merely imaging but not acting only lead to an utterly failure. So, hard-working can bring happiness in someone’s life.
What’s more, happiness consists in contentment. Lots of people feel usually vacant in spite of in possession of colossal wealth. Why that? Because greed is one of a person’s traits. If he gains some progress, he will become more eager to acquire more promotion. Thus, he won’t feel happy due to trapped in struggling with endless purposes. On the contrary, some people have a smiling and relax face so often regardless of their poor life. And it is called “contentment”.
Above all, the really happiness is that seeks and finds how to serve the people and devote ourselves to our motherland. Each of us is one of social members. So, everyone has the obligation to create more harmonies to our society. Meantime, when we give a hand to someone, we can also feel happy. And then, the good traditional virtue could be inherited by our next generation constantly. If so, I believe firmly in that our life will be better and more colorful.
In my opinion, one’s value lies in value of serving the people, the country and the whole society. I am sure those who make contributions, big or small, to our country will be regarded as the happiest people.

Nowadays, a lot of people in society think the more money they have the more happiness they will obtain. As a result they will try their best to get money, even without considering the law.
But in my view, the greatest happiness lies in one’s satisfaction with one’s surroundings. So long as we can look at things with a happy heart, we can be happy. It has nothing to do with a mount of money we have. Therefore, people shouldn’t pay too much attention money we have.
On the contrary (相反地) what they should do is to put their money to good use and try to have an optimistic outlook all the time.

Someone asks me what on earth happiness means? I can't give you the exact definition of it, but I'm sure if you love and help others, you'll get it.
I'll never forget an old lady. She lives in a small house alone. It's said that her husband and her son died in a traffic accident. How bitter her life is!But the old lady often helps others with a smile. Whenever it snows, she is always the first to clean the paths. She looks after several children living nearby. I am one of them. I often remember the stories she told us and her kind smile. Perhaps she is unlucky, but I think she is a happy person. Her life is full of laughter and love.
But I'm sad to see some people getting their happiness in bad ways.They speak loudly in cinemas and meeting rooms; they destroy trees to enjoy themselves and they laugh at others' shortcomings. Perhaps they feel happy at that time, but they will never get true happiness because they have lost their personality.
Now I know what happiness is. It means kindness, love and
unselfishness. Above all, only bringing happiness to others can make you yourself get it.
