李白的《静夜思》仅仅二十个字，就写出了五个物象、三个动作、两种心象（“疑”和“思”），描绘出一幅静夜思乡图，表达了一种像月光一样流转无已的乡愁冲动。其中没有一个难认的字，没有一个晦涩的意象，谁读了都懂，谁看了都觉得好。
王国维说：“语语都在目前，便是不隔。”《静夜思》全诗明白如话，除了一处平实的比喻之外，没有其他修辞，也没有李白惯用的瑰丽雄奇的想象，但读来却使人深深共鸣，个中滋味，只要是漂泊过的人，就会明白。
