Dear Miss Zhou,
How time flies! It is ahnost a month since I arrived here and began a new life as a university student. But all this time, I have been missing you and my dear school.
I just can not tell you how grateful I am to you for the help you gave me during my preparation for the university entrance examination. Now I will tell you something about my university and life here.
Our university lies at the foot of Mount Zijin, in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing City. The campus is very big, with a big sportsground surrounded by lots of modern classroom buildings. What have impressed me most are the big library and the well-equipped language lab.
Our campus is also very beautiful. There are quite a few well-kept gardens. Every road is lined with trees. How happy we are to study in such an enviromnent!
Life here is both busy and coloufful. We have classes every morning. In the afternoon, we either work in the laboratory or do assignments in the classroom. In the evening, we can go to talks or do reading in the library. This keeps us occupied most of the week.
But on weekends, there are always many entertainments. We may go to the club to have a dance or go to the cinema to see a fihn. Sometimes we may also hold a party to practise oral English. In a word, we like our life here very much.
Are you still teaching one of the senior classes? I really think that the students in your class are lucky for they will certainly benefit greatly under your instruction. But take care not to overwork yourself. I do hope you will have a chance of visiting me here.
With best wishes for you and your family. I will be looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Respectfully yours,
Wang Ying
