（1）The over-punctual can be as much a trial to others as the unpunctual.
这句话是as ... as 引导的比较状语从句，基本用法有二：
其一，楼主已经提到了，就是as + 形容词或副词 + as，例如，
The work is not as difficult as you think.
An adult human must take eight steps to go as far as an elephant does in one stride.
其二，as + 形容词 + a/an + 可数名词单数 + as；
其中第一个as是副词，来修饰后面的形容词，该形容词有同时又修饰后面的可数单数名词，
因此，该句子中，much做形容词，表示大量的，修饰后面的名词trial (to others 不过是修饰trial 的介词短语做后置定语，和下面第二个例子impact on ...用法一样);
举一反三： American tend to think from small to large, Let us take as simple an example as the addressing of envelopes.
Rarely has a technological development has as great an impact on so many aspects of social, economic and cultural development as the growth of electronics.

(2） If you are catching a train, it is always better to be comfortably early than even a fraction of a minute too late.
comfortably是副词没错，副词位置本来就很灵活，尽管如此，绝大部分的副词都是在谓语动词之后，例如：The society is moving forward. He left the room quietly. You must discuss the proposal carefully. 至于early 既可以做副词，也可以做形容词，连着两个都是副词，绝对不可能！因此early这里只能是形容词，和另一个形容词late对应，提炼出来就是：better early than late. 早比晚好 (通过该疑问问，建议再补习下形容词和副词的基本用法)；

（3） To her horror he said that she was two hours too soon.
too soon 除了当‘太快’讲以外，还有一种意思理解为ahead of 或 in advance 意思为提前；
She felt in her handbag for the piece of paper on which her father had written down al the details of the journey and gave it to the porter.
feel(felt) for sth 动词词组，意思为摸索，例如，Blinded by the soap, he had to feel for his glasses.
