Abstract: The thesis focuses on design of program-controlled signal generator based on the functions and characteristics of AD9851 produced by Analog Devices, Inc., USA. Thoughts on the overall design of hardware circuit for program-controlled signal generator, are presented, and hardware design on functional modules, including keypad controlled circuit, frequency display circuit, amplitude control, amplitude& frequency measurement, is elaborated. Judged from the actual results of the experimental hardware design and software programming, its featured reliability, easy operation, high performance, prompt frequency switching, have satisfied the needs for high-stability, high-accuracy and high-resolution output waveform, at a competitive price and with a compact size for space-sensitive applications.
