Good morning, everyone! We are team eight!
Li Lushan: I’m Li Lushan.
He Lanfang : I’m He Lanfang.
Zhong Sifen : I’m Zhong Sifen.
Ao Jinghang : I’m Ao Jinghang.
It is of great honor for us to stand here to share our feelings to you!
Well, the topic for today’s prepared speech is: opportunities and challenges. Ok! Now, let’s begin.
To begin with, let me introduce the definition of them to you. Opportunity: means favorable circumstances; a chance; luck. Challenge: means to fight or contest; to dare; to throw down the gauntlet; to offer battle.
Thanks for Jinghang’s introduction. Now, let’s step into our main body.
We hold the opinion that where there is a challenge, there is an opportunity. First of all, I want to talk about the global financial crisis. I think everybody here is very familiar with it, right?
When it comes to the Global financial crisis, most people think it brings a great calamity to the whole earth. Because of it, many companies went bankrupt, many people were out of work, and also, many graduates are facing the difficulties of employment.
Time flies, it has been two years since we come here. Our college life is coming into an end. That is to say, we are going to face our problems of employment. Have you already been prepared to meet your coming challenges? Or you are still hesitating about which way to go? I want to tell you. Even though the economic crisis is not over yet, I believe that today, there are more opportunity for our college students in the modern world than before.
Have you found that the opportunity have slipped while you are complaining and moaning. I think we should recognize the reality and immediately take actions in every aspect. There is no free lunch in the world .Do not hesitate and wonder our right to choose whether to go for the competition which has already been deprived by the cruel world. The only thing we can choose is to endeavor.
There is no national boundary between opportunities and challenges. However, having an opportunity doesn’t mean we have already held the key to success. Wise and hard-working people can always seek opportunity when they are facing difficulties. And it is obviously that opportunities favor the prepared mind. Have you ever asked yourself these questions? Am I diligent enough at school? Am I ready to cope with the potential difficulties in job-hunting or ready to have a tough work with low salary? Is it possible for me to do something different? Am I capable and brave enough to start my own business? If you have thought out your future career carefully and if you are determined to try best to do what you should do .I am sure each of us will have a bright future.
We always say ‘we are the future’. Indeed. We are the younger generation represents modern knowledge, new concepts, ambition and great desire for success. But, have you ever thought of this question: how can we be successful in the 21st century, which is full of great challenges and fierce competitions? In my opinion, there are three important factors.
Firstly, we have to catch the opportunities and face the challenges. Catching the opportunities and trying our best to cope with the difficulties is necessary for us to succeed in the 21st century.
Secondly, we have to learn how to seize the opportunities and give a big smile to challenges.
Thirdly, we have to learn to cooperate and compete. By cooperating and competing, the world develops day by day. Therefore, we, the younger generation, must know how to cooperate and compete.
In the meantime, we also need to realize that we should consider problems contrarily. Just as what we say, “Where there is a challenge, there is an opportunity”.
And next, we should always hoping for the best but expecting the worst. You know, attitude always determines everything.
The last is to study hard, because the correct analysis needs knowledge and science.
As is known to all, the challenges exist all over our daily life, and so do the opportunities. So, what we should do is to take it and use it!
Ladies and gentlemen, we are standing at the outset of a new century. We are at the gate of a new era. Looking back, the 20th century is a century of great developments and remarkable changes. Looking forward, the 21st century is a century full of opportunities, challenges, cooperation and competition. I believe, if we can seize the opportunities, face the challenges, cooperate and compete, success in the 21st century belongs to him, to you and to me.
